Sage Oil Vac Lube Equipment uses an air compressor to create vacuum and pressure in the product tanks. Technicians utilize this vacuum to evacuate used fluids and the pressure to refill equipment with fresh fluids. There are no pumps on Sage Oil Vac Lube Equipment.
Once vacuum or pressure is created in the tanks, the air compressor can be shut off or used for other tasks, unlike conventional pumping methods which require an air compressor to run continuously.
Historically, a conventional lube truck engine idles during the entire maintenance routine to run the air - or hydraulically-driven air compressor. This design requires a lot of CFM and they have to be engaged the entire time the air pump is running or fluids are evacuated or dispensed.
Sage Oil Vac Lube Trucks utilize above deck gas engine-driven air compressors that run 70% less than the air compressors running a pumping system. This is an important savings in today's truck engines regarding fuel consumption and diesel particulate filters.
An important - but often overlooked - consideration for lube equipment is filling the new fluid tanks. Sage Oil Vac Lube Equipment may be vacuum filled through the Barrel Straw. Attach the Barrel Straw to the fresh fluid tank and insert the opposite end in a bulk tank or barrel to vacuum fresh fluids into the Sage Oil Vac tank. The Barrel Straw vacuums fresh oil at rates of 10-20 gpm.
The Sage Oil Vac process is completely enclosed when filling new fluid tanks with the Barrel Straw and vacuuming used fluid and refilling with fresh fluids through quick connect fittings.
