Sage Oil Vac said goodbye to founder Gary Sage who announced his retirement, effective in January 2016. Aaron Sage succeeds his father as company CEO, and he will use the knowledge, innovation and strong company values that Gary established to lead Sage Oil Vac into a new generation.
A lifetime farmer from Pomeroy, Iowa, Gary moved his farming operation to the Texas Panhandle in 1980. He built the first oil vac system for his irrigation engines and farm equipment in 1993, and founded the company a year later. In 2001, Gary moved Sage Oil Vac to Amarillo, Texas, where the company is still headquartered today.
“Thanks to all of the employees of Sage Oil Vac for your contribution to the success of our company,” Gary said. “Because of you, Sage Oil Vac has a bright future. It’s great to see how far this has come since the business began on a farm in 1993.”
Aaron, who joined the company in 2002, is excited to take on his new leadership role as Sage Oil Vac continues to grow and serve many markets throughout the world, including agriculture, construction, oil and gas, mobile oil change businesses and wind turbine gearbox maintenance.
“From the very beginning, Sage Oil Vac has been committed to bringing efficiency and environmental responsibility to all industries through the use of innovative on-site fluid handling and maintenance products,” Aaron said. “My dad leaves Sage Oil Vac in great standing as an industry leader, and I look forward to leading our company toward a strong and bright future.”
