JOB TITLE:  Team Assembler 1

REPORTS TO:  Assembly Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose and Scope

Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Team assemblers can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure that all steps in the Assembly process are done correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Assembly Team to accomplish department goals and objectives.

Specific Tasks for Position

  • Build Reel assemblies
  • Responsible for plumbing and fitting compressors
  • Mounting Tanks and installing Reel mounts.
  • Responsible for wiring trailers.
  • Basic Hand-tool operation.
  • Attend the morning meetings (daily) to receive specific work instructions for the day.
  • Working with the Assembly Supervisor, determine proper procedures for ‘step’ completion.
  • Work through assigned steps until all daily steps are completed.
  • Help other team members if your assigned steps are completed.
  • Rotate through all tasks required as needed and instructed by your supervisor.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts.
  • Responsible for keeping the Assembly area clean and in order.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

HS diploma required.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is consistently standing and walking on concrete flooring, lifting over 50 lbs. on a regular basis.  Employee is mostly involved in manual labor activities such as assembling, tightening bolts, measuring and cutting hoses, etc.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The employee works near moving mechanical parts, welding areas, and other heavy machinery.  The factory experiences significant swings in temperatures from cold to hot depending on time of year.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
